Additionally, the city is set to host several matches of the 2028 Summer Olympics soccer tournaments at Snapdragon Stadium, further solidifying its status as an international sports destination. Mayor Gloria highlighted the significance of this event, noting, “This opportunity reinforces San Diego’s growing reputation as a major soccer hub and an international sporting destination.”
